The safety of all students is paramount at Tajima School of Ju Jitsu. We use the ‘tap’ system of submission – i.e. if you are, for example, thrown to the ground and choked, the person performing the technique will release their choke as soon as you tap (them or the mat).
At the start of each training session, there is a short (20 minutes) warm up which generally consists of stretching, aerobic exercises and some core exercises such as sit ups, squats, lunges etc. Although fitness is in no way a requirement to train in Ju Jitsu, you will quickly see improvements in your general fitness.
